Last summer spinach was recalled due to E. coli. Now a new recall has been announced for bagged spinach that may be contaminated with Salmonella. Metz Fresh which is base in California has issued a spinach recall that affects 34 tons of spinach.
The recalled spinach was sold in 10- and 16-ounce bags, and 2 1/2- and 4-pound cartons in the U.S. and Canada with the following tracking codes: 12208114, 12208214 and 12208314.
There have been no reports of anyone getting sick after eating the spinach. They discovered the Salmonella during routine testing of the spinach being processed at one of their factories. The company is asking consumers to throw away any of the recalled spinach or return it for a full refund.
